Equipment for the evaporation and crystallization unit of the Comprehensive Sewage Treatment and Reuse Project in Shanxi Synthetic Biology Industry Ecological Park, which BGT participated in constructing, has been delivered to the site and entered the installation stage.
The Comprehensive Sewage Treatment and Reuse Project in Shanxi Synthetic Biology Industry Ecological Park is currently the industrial park sewage treatment project with the largest investment scale, the highest treatment standard, and the largest salt separation volume in China. It covers a total planned land area of about 800 mu and has a total investment of RMB 2.138 billion. Construction officially started in October 2020. The project fills the domestic technical gap in large-scale high-salinity wastewater "zero discharge". After completion, it can achieve a daily sewage treatment capacity of about 144,000 tons, and can produce about 400 tons of sodium chloride, sodium sulfate, and miscellaneous salts per day through the evaporation and crystallization unit.
In 2021, BGT undertook the process package design, equipment supply, and related services for the evaporation and crystallization unit of the project. This unit is not only the key to achieving the project goal of resource recycling of water and inorganic salts but also the technical difficulty of the project. BGT's high-salinity water zero-discharge salt separation technology is a combined process that integrates membrane method, thermal method (multi-effect evaporation crystallization) and cold method (freezing crystallization) according to the different ratios of sodium chloride and sodium sulfate in different sewage treatment plants. It separates two byproducts, sodium sulfate and sodium chloride, and then reduces the impact of impurities such as nitrate, organic matter, fluorine, and silicon on the quality of separated salts by appropriately discharging crystallization mother liquor, thereby achieving salt separation and ensuring the quality of sodium sulfate and sodium chloride. Ultimately, it will promote the industrial sewage in the entire park to achieve zero discharge, resource utilization, and harmless treatment, realizing "zero water waste and turning waste into wealth".
