Recently, BGT reached a cooperative agreement with Xizang Alilaguo Resources Co., Ltd. for the lithium mining and processing project in Lakkor Tso Salt Lake, with BGT being responsible for the membrane treatment system.
Xizang Alilaguo Resources Co., Ltd. utilizes the Lakkor Tso Lake water to directly extract battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate through a production system employing a continuous adsorption + membrane + electrodialysis process route, with an annual designed capacity of 20,000 tons of battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate.
On October 25, the semi-industrial test commissioning ceremony for this project was held by the beautiful shores of Lakkor Tso Salt Lake, marking the entry of the lithium extraction project into a substantive research phase. This will verify the feasibility of the adsorption + membrane coupling lithium extraction process, while testing the performance of key equipment, including electrodialysis and bipolar membrane electrodialysis and the overall system stability. The results will provide crucial technical support and decision-making basis for the project's subsequent development.
Lakkor Tso Salt Lake is an undeveloped large sodium sulfate subtype brine lake, with a mining right area of 99 square kilometers. The registered reserves of the mine are: about 2.48 million tons of lithium chloride (large-scale), about 3.82 million tons of boron trioxide (large-scale), about 7.44 million tons of potassium chloride (medium-scale). In addition, it has proven reserves of 14,200 tons of rubidium oxide resources (large-scale), 15,900 tons of cesium oxide resources (large-scale), as well as other resources such as sodium and magnesium.
