Recently, the preparatory meeting for the establishment of the Xizang Salt Lake Green Comprehensive Development and Utilization and Environmental Protection Joint Laboratory was held in Chengdu. The meeting was led by Xizang Mining, and attended by the Institute of Mineral Resources of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, Wanhua Chemical Group Battery Materials Technology Co., Ltd., and Beijite Group Co., Ltd. The meeting discussed and approved the "Construction Plan for the Joint Laboratory of Green Comprehensive Development, Utilization and Environmental Protection of Tibet Salt Lake", which will carry out research on lithium extraction and strategic rare element development and utilization in salt lakes according to four research directions: basic, pilot, productive, and forward-looking. By mastering the core technology of salt lake resource development, research and production of high value-added products in salt lakes will be carried out. Guided by technology, the integration of salt lake resources in the region is carried out, and all parties are linked by joint laboratories to jointly create a stronger profit pillar for salt lake development.

The company believes that the establishment of a joint laboratory by the four parties can fully leverage their respective advantages in Tibet's mining mineral resources and application scenarios, mineral resource research at the Institute of Geological Sciences, research and development of lithium materials for Wanhua batteries, pilot testing and engineering application experience of Beijet lithium technology, and research on salt lake resources and environment, green and efficient development and utilization of resources. With technology leading the integration of salt lake resources in the region, all parties can use the joint laboratory as a link to jointly create a stronger profit pillar for salt lake development.

On the basis of giving full play to the advantages of all parties, and on the principle of equality, mutual benefit, common development, and the pursuit of first-class, the establishment of the joint laboratory will certainly highlight the ecological, green, environmental protection, energy conservation, comprehensive recovery, zero carbon, exemplary characteristics of the Zabuye Salt Lake and the driving role of high-quality economic development in Xizang, and play a huge role in promoting the development of lithium resource strategies of all parties to the cooperation with science and technology.

After the establishment of the joint laboratory, it will further increase the development of lithium extraction technology in salt lakes in Xizang, improve the speed of intelligent digital applications, and provide more perfect EPC, operation and maintenance services for salt lake resources in Xizang.

The Mineral Resources Research Institute of the Academy of Geological Sciences stated that as a central national research institution, it has the ability to conduct comprehensive research on the entire industry chain of mineral resource investigation and evaluation. It mainly carries out research on the investigation, evaluation, and development of resources such as Qinghai Tibet Plateau salt lakes, national potassium and lithium salts, and underground brine and oilfield water in China. The joint laboratory provides scientific research guidance and services for the high-quality development of the industrialization of Zabuye Salt Lake, effectively ensuring the rational, efficient, and low consumption development of Zabuye Salt Lake resources, and laying a solid technical foundation for new processes and developments in Zabuye Salt Lake; Through the transformation of scientific research achievements and industrial incubation, we aim to maximize the value of salt lake resources and become a new profit growth point for all parties involved in cooperation.

At present, the construction plan has been approved by the participating companies, and the establishment of the joint laboratory will become a leading demonstration in the comprehensive development of lithium, potassium, rubidium, cesium and other resources in salt lakes in Tibet. Through research and development, we will master the core lithium extraction technology of one lake, one process, and integrate the salt lake resources in the region with technology and capital. At the same time, we will provide technical research and development, process package transfer, laboratory analysis and other services for other salt lakes in the region, promote the green comprehensive development and utilization of salt lake resources in Tibet, and help the high-quality economic development of Tibet Autonomous Region.
