On January 15, 2023, we ushered in the first snow of 2023 in Zhengzhou, as well as the 2022 Annual Work Summary & Commendation Conference of BGT Group Co., Ltd. (stock code: 300774).

Outside the window, large flakes of snow were like an endless army of thousands, galloping forward with all their might.

Looking back at 2022, facing the severe external environment, BGT insisted on putting "seeking development while maintaining stability" at the top of its strategy. It stayed true to its original aspiration, united as one, actively responded to various difficulties and challenges, and weathered problems such as rising costs and restricted execution. With sweat and wisdom, it nurtured dreams and forged ahead with solid actions. Adversity reveals courage and perseverance, and trials bring refinement like jade.

This year, BGT firmly adhered to its strategic direction, focusing on the field of wastewater resource utilization, including high-salinity water zero discharge, salt separation, municipal-industrial integrated water recycling in industrial fields, as well as salt lake lithium extraction and other fields. It carried out technological R&D, system design (process packages), equipment manufacturing, installation and commissioning, engineering application, and smart operation & maintenance services. Adhering to technological innovation to continuously enhance the Company's core competitiveness, it has accumulated 158 patents so far, including 50 invention patents and 108 utility model patents.

This year, we established the Smart Operation Digital Center, dedicated to realizing unmanned operation of salt lake lithium extraction.

We set up the Company's second R&D center and introduced the Tsinghua University Postdoctoral Workstation to carry out research on the generation and application of hydrogen energy, a research direction aligned with the national new energy strategy.

We jointly established the Joint Laboratory for Xizang Salt Lake Green Comprehensive Development & Utilization and Environmental Protection with Xizang Mineral, East China Engineering Science and Technology, and the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. Integrating the advantages of all parties, the laboratory is committed to the research on salt lake resources and the environment in Xizang, as well as the green and efficient development and utilization of resources. It aims to realize the comprehensive development and utilization of salt lakes in Xizang and support the implementation of the national new energy strategy.

This year, we have been deeply engaged in segmented fields and continuously expanding our market presence. The three business segments—industrial high-salinity wastewater resource utilization, municipal-industrial integrated wastewater resource utilization, and salt lake lithium extraction & comprehensive development of salt lake resources—developed at an accelerated pace. Leveraging the Company's technical advantages and project experience, and in line with national policy guidelines, we continued to layout in different industrial fields and expand market share.

We have typical benchmark projects in fields such as salt lake lithium extraction, coal chemical industry, petrochemical industry, new energy (e.g., hydrogen energy and photovoltaic), bio-environmental protection new materials, coking wastewater zero discharge, comprehensive utilization of industrial park wastewater, and semiconductor electronic wastewater treatment, which have been unanimously recognized in the industry.

This year, we have gained trust and applause. BGT won the title of "2021 Leading Enterprise in Industrial & Park Water Treatment – Annual Pioneer in High-Salinity Wastewater Resource Utilization" in the 19th Water Sector Enterprise Selection 2021; it was awarded the "2021 Outstanding Enterprise in Ecological Environment Governance"; it was selected into the "2021 Beijing National Specialized, Fine, New, and Unique 'Little Giant' Enterprise"; it won the "Best Listed Company Board of Directors" award in the "12th China Listed Company Reputation List 2022", as well as multiple honors such as "Advanced Unit", "Excellent Contractor", and "Excellent Organization". We would like to thank all sectors of society for their recognition and applause. All these honors are the driving force for BGT to move forward.

This year, we have achieved fruitful results, yet we remain keenly aware that there is still a long way to go. According to the Report on the Development of China's Environmental Protection Industry (2021), the Environmental Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment estimates that to achieve China's "14th Five-Year Plan" environmental governance goals, the investment demand for the ecological environment is about RMB 6.8-8 trillion, with an annual investment demand of about RMB 1.4-1.6 trillion. To achieve the goal of carbon emission peaking before 2030, the annual capital investment demand is about RMB 2.1 trillion. As a leading enterprise in wastewater resource utilization, BGT has proposed a municipal-industrial integrated model, which realizes the resource utilization of industrial park wastewater. This not only reduces the financial expenditure of relevant government departments on wastewater treatment but also effectively protects the local water environment. Our vision is grand, and our resolve is steadfast, but achieving it requires all BGT members to embrace challenges and work together, as well as the strong support of our partners.

The journey ahead is long and challenging, but we march forward with unwavering courage.
