Since the groundbreaking ceremony held in June 2023, the Xizang Salt Lake Comprehensive Utilization R&D Base Investment Project has achieved another important phased progress in August 2023, with project equipment being shipped to the site one after another. It is expected that civil construction and equipment installation will be completed by the end of September, and the commissioning and trial operation of lithium, potassium, rubidium, and cesium extraction devices will be finished by the end of October.

The project will effectively verify four technological routes and ultimately achieve an innovative application of high-performance lithium adsorbent technology coupled with membrane integration process, forming an efficient, low-cost, continuous, and stable lithium extraction process for carbonate-type salt lake brine. The implementation of the project aims to improve the comprehensive utilization efficiency of salt lake resources (including rare elements such as lithium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, etc.) while protecting the ecological environment, as well as advancing intelligent operation and maintenance application of salt lake lithium extraction.
