Warmly celebrate the completion of the project of green comprehensive development and utilization of ten thousand tons of battery grade lithium carbonate in Zabuye Salt Lake, Xizang, and its entry into the comprehensive commissioning stage. A modern factory has sprung up on the snowy plateau!

This project is the first modern large-scale industrial project in Xizang and the first project to realize the comprehensive development and utilization of salt lake resources. It is also the first large-scale salt lake lithium extraction project (all membrane process sections) undertaken by BJT in Xizang. The process of "membrane separation+evaporative crystallization" is used to efficiently recover lithium, potassium and other resources in Zabuye salt lake. The design annual output of battery grade lithium carbonate is 9600 tons, industrial grade lithium carbonate is 2400 tons, by-product potassium chloride is 156000 tons, and rubidium cesium mixed salt is 200 tons. The project officially started construction in June 2022. Through the efforts of all participating personnel, they overcame many difficulties such as altitude sickness, material transportation, construction efficiency reduction, and procurement of daily necessities, and planned and coordinated in advance. At present, the nanofiltration device and five other core process sections under the responsibility of Beijet have entered the stage of single machine commissioning. The overall project has achieved mechanical completion and entered the debugging phase.

Public information shows that after the project is put into operation, the battery grade lithium carbonate produced each year can be used for about 200000 to 300000 electric cars. Calculated based on each car traveling 20000 kilometers per year, it can reduce about 2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions per year compared to fuel vehicles. It will become a model project for the development of salt lake resources in Tibet and has high strategic significance for ensuring the supply security of domestic lithium resources.

Xizang Shigatse Zabuye Lithium Industry High tech Co., Ltd. held the mechanical completion ceremony of Xizang Zabuye ten thousand ton battery grade lithium carbonate project on November 20, 2023. General Manager Zhang Jianfei and the construction team of Beijet participated in this event and congratulated the completion of the project.
