On May 14, BGT further secured the exploration right for the Lailiqiaoke Iron-Copper Mine in Pishan County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region! The Lailiqiaoke Iron-Copper Mine, located in Pishan County of Hotan Prefecture, covers a total area of 13.77 square kilometers, and the result of this winning bid is currently under public notice.

As is widely known, copper is an important strategic mineral resource and a crucial basic raw material for national economic and social development. Besides its extensive applications in fields such as power and electrical engineering, electronic equipment, transportation, and air-conditioning refrigeration, copper also holds significant strategic importance in the new energy vehicle industry and new energy sector, including areas like new energy vehicles, new energy motors, new energy vehicle charging piles, and emerging clean energy sources such as photovoltaic and wind power. According to data, by 2025, the direct copper consumption in photovoltaic and wind power alone will reach 900,000 tons.

At the beginning of 2024, BGT signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Administrative Office of Hotan Prefecture on the investment and development of industries such as lithium-containing salt lakes/brine (underground brine in blank areas), mines, and downstream cathode materials in Hotan Prefecture. Hotan Prefecture is rich in mineral resources while having a fragile ecological environment. Meanwhile, south Xinjiang is a key and focal point for Xinjiang's development. General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized at the Third Central Xinjiang Work Forum: "We must vigorously promote economic and social development and improve people's livelihoods in south Xinjiang." The state has formulated top-level designs for the development of south Xinjiang and introduced a series of policies regarding finance, investment, finance, and talent, leading to remarkable achievements in economic development. Striving to solve the development issues in south Xinjiang is also fundamental to achieving long-term stability and security.
