Recently, BGT Digital Center won China's first smart maintenance project in the petrochemical industry thanks to the advanced and comprehensive nature of its system solutions, its professional depth in industrial water treatment processes, and its efficient service system. The project has been successfully implemented in actual industrial scenarios, officially ushering in a new chapter for BGT in the field of smart maintenance for industrial wastewater resource utilization.
The project originated from the research and development achievements of BGT Digital Center in the field of industrial high-difficulty wastewater treatment and high-salt water resource utilization, which were developed and verified through two years of research and practice. Based on its accumulated expertise in industrial water treatment processes and data, BGT targeted the stringent requirements of the petrochemical industry for water treatment safety and accuracy, with the core objective of “unmanned operation,” and established an intelligent control system covering the entire process. The system deploys high-precision sensor networks and edge computing nodes to collect and dynamically analyze water quality parameters, equipment status, and energy consumption data in real time. Combined with predictive models built using AI algorithms, it can autonomously adjust core process parameters, upgrading traditional manual inspections to intelligent monitoring mode. Equipment automatic start/stop rates exceed 90%, and following project implementation, on-site operational staff have been significantly reduced, gradually achieving a stepwise transition from “minimal staff presence” to “unmanned operation.”
In terms of energy conservation and consumption reduction, the system effectively reduces overall drug consumption through its independently developed intelligent allocation algorithm. Relying on the pipeline pressure dynamic balance algorithm, it reduces ineffective circulating water volume by about one-third. More importantly, its equipment health assessment system uses deep learning analysis of 12 types of characteristic parameters, such as vibration and temperature, to achieve accurate early warning of equipment failures.
The project addresses the “localized intelligence” dilemma of traditional smart water management by seamlessly integrating leading processes with AI to achieve core functions such as full-plant intelligent early warning, energy conservation and emissions reduction, and unmanned operation. This significantly reduces operational costs for owners and lays the technical foundation for comprehensive smart energy management across the entire plant. The innovative “prediction-decision-execution” integrated model holds broad application potential.
The core competitiveness of this system is reflected in three technical pillars:
Currently, global water scarcity and extreme climate challenges are intertwined, making smart water management a key enabler for supporting the national “dual carbon” strategy and urban resilience development. However, traditional water management still faces bottlenecks such as data lag, decision-making reliant on experience, and inefficient facilities, urgently requiring technological breakthroughs. With the continuous intensification of national “water conservation actions” and smart city construction policies, coupled with breakthroughs in AIoT technology, smart water management has entered a golden development period of policy and technological synergy.
Against this backdrop, BGT, with 20 years of experience in industrial water treatment, adheres to the core philosophy of “technology-driven + data-empowered.” By constructing a full-chain smart water management solution, it is responding to the demands of the times with its professional expertise: addressing the pain points of traditional water management and driving the transformation of urban and industrial water resource utilization toward efficiency and sustainability.
In the future, BGT's smart water management development will focus on the continuous deepening of technology and the practical expansion of market application scenarios, leading industrial wastewater resource utilization toward a smarter and more efficient new era.
